Veteran's Day
Hope all of you celebrated our Veterans Day. I hung up my Navy and US flags in front of the house to honor the day. Sadly I saw no other flags flying in my neighborhood. Guess for a very large number of our citizens Military Service isn't "In," anymore.
With the advent of a volunteer force, so many of our young kids don't even know, nor care for the Military and thus never appreciate what our fellow servicemen and women have endured throughout the past two centuries. Thus, they also fail to appreciate the liberties we enjoy because of their sacrifice.
Let us all take a moment to think of all those who have served valiantly and those who are serving now, especially in combat zones where everyday could be their last. I salute them all for their bravery and patriotism. John Liczbinski, 2010 reunion coordinator
